About EJS

Elephant Jungle Sanctuary is a project that has set up ethical elephant sanctuaries in Thailand. We have three elephant nature parks in Thailand, they are near Chiang Mai, Pattaya and Phuket. Visitors to the Elephant Jungle Sanctuary will be able to feed, bathe and play with the elephants on their visit. It is also important to us that visitors learn as much as possible about the elephants and why it is important to protect them. With the money we raise from visits and donations, we can rescue elephants, feed them, provide veterinary care as well as land and infrastructure for them to live on. Elephant welfare is very important to us and it is one of our main goals.

You can also bring a camera with you but if you’re worried about taking photos with the elephants you need not worry. Elephant Jungle Sanctuary offers a photography service at no extra charge. The photographer will take photos of you throughout the day and upload the photos to Dropbox, which you can then access through the link on the EJS Facebook page.

Our first elephant conservation center in Thailand was founded in July 2014 near Chiang Mai. It is a joint initiative between members of the Karen hill-tribes and Chiang Mai locals who were concerned about the welfare of elephants in Thailand. We offer Half Day, Full Day, Exclusive One Day Walk with Elephants and Overnight Stay options to visit our sanctuary.

Visit the Elephant Jungle Sanctuary Phuket, the first ever operational ethical elephant Sanctuary in Phuket province. This sanctuary is in a picturesque area of Phuket with stunning views of mountains, jungle and beaches. Go swimming with the elephants, a memory that you will never forget!

Play with elephants in Thailand at our Pattaya Sanctuary. Elephant Jungle Sanctuary Pattaya has our Half Day and Full Day visits as well as our facility to turn elephant poop into paper. Learn more about our sustainable paper when you come to visit us. You can even go on a jungle walk with the elephants!

Do Not Ride Elephants: Elephants spines are not the same as horses or humans. The spine of the elephant does not have rounded discs or plates along it but these bones have a more protruding shape that extends out from the spine. These protrusions cannot bear heavy loads and later in the elephant’s life, these discs begin to degenerate and deform. Please do not ride elephants or support an elephant nature park in Thailand that encourages the riding of elephants. Elephant welfare and health is very important to us and the people of Thailand.

If you enjoyed your time at Elephant Jungle Sanctuary, please ensure that your friends know exactly how to find us.
